Up to the last edition, participating teams have come from England ("Barbarians"), Scotland ("Hurlford Badminton Club" and "Ayrshire Challengers"), Germany ("TV Goldbach") and Italy ("Polisportiva Parrino"). Participation is by invitation only.

As its name implies, the Tournament is specifically intended to foster friendship in the context of healthy competition between Badminton players from different countries, regardless of their standard of play.

The tournament is played on a single round league basis, with each fixture consisting of five games - Men's Singles Ladies' singles Men's Doubles Ladies' Doubles Mixed Doubles

 

As organizers, the Hibernians Badminton Club offers the following facilities:

(1) Shuttlecocks for the Tournament.
(2) Lodging in double/triple rooms on half-board basis at a three star hotel for each team, consisting of eight persons (seven players + one coach) for four nights.
(3) Transport to/from the airport as well as to/from the venue.
(4) Packed lunch between the morning and afternoon sessions on each tournament day. (5) Farewell dinner for all the participants, at the end of which prizes and mementos would be distributed.

For the duration of the Tournament, at the sports hall:
(a) A medical team will be in attendance;
(b) Racket repair and re-stringing will be available;
(c) A well-stocked bar will be open.
